Piezotech® FC Powders

P(VDF-TrFE) powders are available in a variety of VDF/TrFE ratios: FC20 (20% TrFE), FC25 (25% TrFE), FC30 (30% TrFE) and FC45 (45% TrFE).

Specific composition or molecular weight can be produced upon request.

Piezotech® FC

P(VDF-TrFE) copolymers, named Piezotech® FC, exhibit high piezoelectric responses over a wide range of temperatures in their poled ferroelectric phase: 

  • High thermal stability of the piezoelectric properties

  • Low power consumption: external power source unnecessary

  • Good mechanical properties

  • High coupling factor

  • Wide frequency range

  • Transparency

  • Chemical resistance

  • High dielectric strength

Compared to PVDF homopolymer, these materials display several advantages: 

  • Upper thermal stability (80 °C for PVDF versus 130°C for Piezotech® FC20)

  • Improved coupling factor (0.15 for PVDF versus 0.3 for P(VDF-TrFE))

  • Printable

  • Enhanced piezoelectric properties (higher d33)

Relaxor-ferroelectric and High-k Terpolymers

Piezotech® RT

Additional CTFE or CFE monomer units are introduced into the well-organized VDF-TrFE chains, which improve dipole mobility, and thus induce unique relaxor ferroelectric properties.

P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE) or P(VDF-TrFE-CFE) are unique relaxor ferroelectric polymers that exhibit high electrostrictive strain and high dielectric constants.

  • High deformation (directly proportional to the applied electric field squared, E²)

  • High elastic energy

  • High stress.

Piezotech® RT Terpolymer Powders

Piezotech® RT terpolymer powders are available with either CFE or CTFE as the termonomer.

Piezotech® RT Inks

Solvents and concentrations have been optimized to allow for the use of standard printing conditions. 3 standard formulations adapted for conventional techniques are available. Standard Piezotech® RT Inks are formulated with Piezotech® RT-TS polymer powder. Specific inks can be formulated upon request.

Electroactive Film

Electroactive films of Piezotech® materials can be produced by ink casting.
Small film samples (12*12 cm) are available for prototyping and R&D laboratories. Piezotech® has the capabilities to sputter 12*12 cm films of quality-controlled P(VDF-TrFE), and P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE) with Cr/Au, allowing for electrode coverage over the whole film surface.
Large film quantities and rolls of films can be produced with a partner by solvent casting on a wide range of substrates.
